Can you use hand sanitizer to clean a flute?

This means washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before and after playing or cleaning your instrument. Alternately, hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol can be used if soap and water are not available.

How often should you Repad a flute?

every 5-10 years Repad. Generally recommended when a considerable number of pads need to be replaced, but the mechanism of the instrument is in superior condition, or on average every 5-10 years, the standard Repad procedures include the Full COA services, and: Replacement of ALL pads (corks, foams, adjustments replaced if needed)

Can you use Clorox wipes on a flute?

To answer simply, it is not recommended to use clorox wipes for your flute but you can most certainly use them to clean your hard case. The reason for this is that bleach is a corrosive chemical that can actually damage your silver flute and damage your headjoint, cork, keys, and pads.

Can I use isopropyl alcohol to clean my flute?

To clean a flute with rubbing alcohol, take a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol soaked into it and rub around the mouthpiece and lip plate. This will kill any bacteria on and around this spot without the need for bleach. Don't use rubbing alcohol inside the body of the flute or around the keys.

How do you clean a flute that hasn't been used in years?

While rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, soap and water, or Windex can be used for cleaning the exterior of your flute, anti-tarnish silver polish does the best job of keeping your instrument tarnish-free and shiny.

Can you clean flute cleaning cloths?

Can I clean my flute with hydrogen peroxide?
