On Tuesday, April 16, 2013 The Player's Bench Music Store hosted it's 3rd annual Taylor Road Show. Special guest Marc Seal, of the Ultimate Guitar Show, was there to talk and answer questions for the crowded room. A special thanks to all that attended. (over 100+)
On December 16, the Player's Bench hosted another one of their student recitals. Over 150 family and friends came out to watch the students perform. We would like to thank all of the students and teachers that put all of their hard work and effort towards the recital. It was a great success!
21st Annual Halloween Sale
In a tough economy, it takes extreme discounts to get the public to spend their limited hard earned money. So if a sale is really a sale, our customers will come ....and that is just what they did on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. It started early Tuesday morning, people began to line up in front of the store to be the first in line! This tradition of the "Halloween Sale" has grown over the past 20 years to become an event that customers start asking about in mid-summer. Even in these trying economic times and enduring the chilly weather, our customers stood in line to take advantage of the deep discounts on everything in the store. To marvel in the Halloween spirit, the Player's Bench staff and many customers dressed up in Halloween cosumes. The Player's Bench sponsored it's first McHenry Kiwanis All-American Soap Box Derby on June 9, 2012. Twenty-nine racers, ranging in age from 8 to 13 years old, competed from the top of the hill on Waukegan Rd in McHenry, down passed Green St, and crossing the finish line by McHenry East High School. The Soap Box car that The Player's Bench sponsored, known as "The Blues Mobile", won 6th place! A special thanks to our fearless driver Colin!
On March 29, 2012, the Player's Bench Music Store hosted a Taylor Road Show. The evening was filled with guitar talk from Taylor product specialist Mike Ausman and Grammy Award winning guitarist Wayne Johnson. They discussed construction using domestic and exotic wood selections. They went over various building techniques and discussed how size, shape and finish can affect guitar sound. The floor was then open to questions and answers and the crowd got to pickup and play the latest Taylor models. A special thanks to all that attended. (over 100+)

Standing room only! We had another amazing turnout for our Fall Showcase on November 20th at Duke's Alehouse & Kitchen in downtown Crystal Lake. We had 18 very talented young rockers take the stage with instruction from our wonderful teachers Bill Sonoda & Bruce Waters. Fun was had by all!
